Even though I mostly work in 3D, I still love drawing and coming up with new characters. This is the Lettuce Snail, a character design for a short film idea that I have been carrying around for a while.
The Concept: The idea is simple but fun. Instead of a shell, this snail carries a head of lettuce on its back. But that comes with problems. The snail has to water its lettuce every day to keep it fresh. Even worse, it has to protect it from hungry enemies – especially a goose that is always lurking nearby.

Why I Like This Idea: What I enjoy about this character design is the contrast. The snail is slow, small, and vulnerable. The lettuce makes it even more of a target. And the goose is the perfect villain, loud, aggressive, and always hungry. That dynamic creates a lot of storytelling potential with very simple elements.

What’s Next: Maybe I will develop this story further. I could see it working as a short 2D or 3D film. For now, it lives as a sketch and a concept, but who knows where it will go.
